Venue Notes
Classes take place in our main circus hall and there is free parking at the venue.

We do our best to make Galway Community Circus Hall a nut free space. Members are asked to not eat any food especially nuts in the hall during class. Please note we cannot guarantee that other public spaces at St Josephs Community Centre will be nut free.

3 hour workshop for beginner and intermediate levels. Prerequisites: You should be able to hold your own body weight on your arms but no prior experience is necessary.

Cyr Wheel is a circus and acrobatic activity performed inside a large single metal ring. The performer stands in the wheel, grips its rim, and uses body movement and momentum to roll, spin, and flow across the floor while doing tricks and balances.

This workshop is designed to make learning the discipline of Cyr wheel easy and FUN. The sessions will start with a warm up including the core elements of Cyr wheel with specific preparatory and core strengthening exercises. Participants will work on coordination and balance to build towards learning manipulations, spins and rocks with logical progressions.

If you have done Cyr wheel before this workshop will allow you to expand your existing knowledge base and work with more complex manipulations/variations as well as preparations for cartwheels and coins.

Please wear comfortable, close-fitting training clothes. Bring indoor shoes, they should be slim soled plimsolls (or pumps) – Feiyues are ideal

NOTE: To register as an adult simply create a 'child profile' for yourself. You can then register into your class as the 'child'.
